Surrounded by now defunct limestone quarries the village of Box – sited just five miles north-east of the city of Bath – boasts an astonishing 232 listed buildings. As a busy building firm based in Bath and spending a great deal of time working in Box and the surrounding area we are no strangers to taking on the challenges of repairing, renovating and restoring listed buildings.

You could say we cut our teeth in the building business on Bath stone, much of it quarried in Box until the last mine closed in 1969. Fortunately, Bath stone is still mined at Hartham Park in nearby Corsham, so the beautiful stone is still available for new builds and restoration work in Box.
